Lenten Sermon Series

“Where Will You Spend Eternity?

                                            Smoking or Non-Smoking?”

Lent 1: Temptation

Feb 25(Luke 4:1-13) Guest Speaker Jeff Burt-Gracik brought us the message of Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness. Experience the Grace of sharing times of loneliness and struggle with our Lord.

Lent 2: Journey

March 4(Luke 13:31-35) Jesus claims his ministry even though it will be heart-breaking. Are we ready to claim the gifts for service God has given us?

Lent 3: Compassion

March 11(Luke 13:1-9) In the parable of the fig tree, we experience the grace of compassion-given and received.

Lent 4: Forgiveness

March 18(Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32) This familiar story of the Prodigal Son challenges us to extend the grace of forgiveness, but also offers grace for those of us who need to be forgiven.

Lent 5: Adoration

March 25( John 12:1-8) We explore the acts of love and adoration that pour forth from us when we recognize the Grace God has shown us.

Lent 6: Praise

This Easter we will join with St. Peter’s-by-the-Sea Lutheran Church for a beautiful Sonrise Holy Communion Service on the Cliffs at 7:00am. We will gather at St. Peter’s-by-the-Sea and walk across the street, to gather behind the building on the patio overlooking the ocean. There, we will welcome Easter morning with singing, prayer, praise and Holy Communion. No matter the weather that morning, we know the view will be awe-inspiring. St. Peter’s-by-the-Sea is located at 1371 Sunset Cliffs Blvd. Hope to see you there!
